Dinner bodice is done! That is, today all I had to do was try the thing on with an actual chemise (instead of a t-shirt) to do a final check on the fit (it's fine), sew the buttons on (it's a hook/bar closure as I like to fake button closures rather than actually make buttonholes), sew an un-period snap onto the skirt placket to keep it from ( Read more... )

I got the darts fitted on the dinner bodice on....Monday I think it was? And it's too big in the boob still. (Mock my boob size at your peril. I get very very tired of the comments. Hot damn, I hate piping seams. I wouldn't do it if it wasn't such a thing mid-19th century, damn them.
